Where we actually fit

We're not the only reasonable choice, and we won't pretend otherwise. Here's where a DIY builder, a general agency, or a practice platform genuinely makes more sense than us.

Figures below are typical ranges, checked against current UK pricing. Prices change. Tell us if something looks out of date.

Comparison table

Four ways to get a website, honestly compared
This studio A DIY builder A general agency A practice platform
Typical cost £149 setup, then £19–£39/mo £9–£40+/mo £500–£3,000+ upfront, plus hosting £15–£35/mo, often per seat
Who builds it A person, for this practice specifically You, from a template A team, rarely specialists in this sector Nobody: a generic template inside the platform
Accessibility WCAG 2.2 AA guaranteed, or fixed free Depends on the template and your setup Depends entirely on that agency Whatever the platform's template happens to be
Tracking & privacy No analytics or ad pixels, by design Often on by default in the template Depends entirely on that agency Varies: check their privacy notice
Advertising wording Checked against ASA/CAP rules before launch Entirely on you Rarely sector-specific Not their job: it's a scheduling tool
Contact form monitoring Tested daily Not unless you build it yourself Rarely included N/A: enquiries usually go through their booking flow
Clinical & admin tools Not what we build: see below No Sometimes, at a cost Scheduling, notes, invoicing: their actual job
Best for A distinctive, compliant site and nothing else bundled in Confidence and time, tighter budget Heavy custom functionality, budget to match Running the clinical and admin side of a practice

We're not neutral here: we're one of the four options. The figures for the others are real ranges, not straw men; check them yourself.

In more detail

When each one is actually the right call

A DIY builder: Wix, Squarespace, and similar

The honest case: they're cheap, and you can start today. The gap is everything downstream of "it looks fine": accessibility, tracking and advertising wording become your responsibility, and most people don't know those rules exist until something goes wrong.

A general web agency

Need more than a marketing site: a client portal, custom booking, bespoke integrations? A generalist agency can build what we deliberately don't. What you're less likely to get is a team who knows this sector's ASA rules, or what a 1am visitor researching trauma counselling actually needs.

A practice-management platform

Genuinely excellent at what they do: scheduling, session notes, invoicing, secure client records. That's a real, different job from a marketing website, and we don't do it. Several clients run one alongside a site we've built: the website brings people in, the platform runs the practice.

Us

The right call if you want a distinctive site built for your practice, with compliance and accessibility done as standard, and nothing bundled in that you're paying for but not using. Need scheduling or clinical notes too? Pair us with one of the platforms above.

Still not sure which is right for you?

Tell us what you're weighing up and we'll give you a straight answer, even if it's "one of the others, honestly."
